Description
Bonner County Sheriff's Office is seeking entry and lateral patrol deputy candidates. Patrol Deputies get to work in one the most beautiful places in Idaho with abundant mountains, lakes, agriculture, and small towns. We are a community oriented organization, working in partnership with the residents of the County to keep this area a safe place to live, work, play, and visit. Bonner County is the home of great winter skiing, amazing summer water sports, and some of the best hunting and fishing Idaho has to offer. Public land for recreation is also abundant, living here makes it hard to leave for vacation.
Patrol Deputies work 12 hour shifts with three days off one week and 4 days off the next week. They work shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and bid for shifts once a year. Patrol Deputies are issued a take home patrol vehicle if they live within the limits set by policy.
Patrol Deputies respond to calls for service, complete criminal and non criminal investigations, perform traffic enforcement, testify in court, prepare reports, etc. The full job description is available on the Human resources website, linked below. Collateral duty opportunities include K9 handler, ERT (SWAT), Dive Rescue, Hostage Negotiators, Search and Rescue, and Drone Team. Collateral Duty pay as well as shift differential pay is also offered.
