As they progress through the designated steps of the professional development plan, their pay will increase up to $23.25 an hour (Level II $21.75/hour and Level III $23.25/hour. Shift Information: Generally, three 12-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift per week. Day shift (6:00am-6:00pm) or night shift (6:00pm-6:00am). There are two main work weeks: Sunday – Wednesday and Wednesday – Saturday. Shift pick is every six months. Security Control Specialists work a variety of shifts including days, swings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Working shift work means that you may miss family holidays, birthdays, children's activities and other similar events. Security Control Specialists rotate shifts every six months. There is also the possibility that the shift will change in the middle of a rotation to meet the needs of the agency.

General Summary: Supervises and maintains custody of inmates and provides security for the Ada County Jail. The incumbent uses personal judgment in the performance of duties, referring unusual, unique, or complex issues to the sergeant for advice and guidance. Shift Information: Day shift (6:48am – 7:00pm) or Night shift (6:48pm – 7:00am). Work week is four 12-hours shifts, then four days off (2,220 hours per year). Shift pick every six months. The jail is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This position requires you to work weekends, nights and holidays. Job Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; - Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire; - Must be a citizen of the United States: - Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; - Ability to supervise and communicate with inmates; - Ability to hear, listen to, and understand radio transmissions using an ear piece; - Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; - Ability to take criticism and verbal abuse from inmates and their visitors without reacting in a negative manner and project an image of self-confidence and control; - Ability to subdue and restrain a combative inmate; - Ability to evaluate and recognize potentially adverse or unsafe situations and react according to department policy; and - Ability to perform the duties of the position without a direct threat to the health or safety of the incumbent or others. Other Requirements: - Must pass a written exam, the POST physical agility test, a polygraph exam, background investigation, medical exam, and a psychological evaluation; - Must become POST certified as a Detention Officer within one year of employment; - Must be able to obtain and maintain an Idaho Driver's License; - This position has been designated safety sensitive and therefore the incumbent is subject to random drug testing.

Provides mental health services including assessment, crisis intervention and brief counseling, to an inmate population in a fast paced environment, provides clinical consultations to staff and others, and assists with mental health related program development. The position is located in the Ada County Sheriff's Office, Health Services Division. SHIFT INFORMATION: Must be willing to work a variety of hours which includes weekends & holidays. (Schedule can be either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts). Essential Functions: - Conducts bio-psycho-social and risk assessments to determine inmate needs, eligibility for services and level of care; - Schedules appointments with internal medical providers when appropriate and explains services to clients; - Provides clients with crisis intervention services and individual counseling as needed; - Promotes client self-determination by addressing special needs of the client; - Participates in interdisciplinary team staffing to formulate treatment plans; - Identifies and teams with other community resource agencies to design, coordinate, and provide client assistance and intervention; - Completes and submits applications for commitments when necessary; - Works and maintains eligibility to work all shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, whether assigned or on an as needed or on-call basis due to clinical coverage being required in the jail 7 days per week; - Takes action to reduce risk to clients upon discharge from facility by organizing emergency and crisis intervention, and after-hours on-call services; - Documents interactions in an electronic medical record.

Serves as first customer point of contact for requests, complaints, and incidents. Assists Ada County Patrol Deputies at Lucky Peak Reservoir with general patrol duties, conducts boat safety inspections, assists with marine enforcement, boater education, and public outreach. Essential Functions: - Provides resolution within established guidelines, escalates complex situations as appropriate; - Ensures safe boating operations in compliance with laws and regulations; - Serves as primary site liaison to state and federal regulatory agencies such as, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Idaho Parks and Recreation; - Promotes public/community relations as dock representative; - Conducts recreational boat inspections for proper safety equipment, compliance with boating regulations and licenses, and issues citations when needed; - Assists with boater education courses; - Monitors and coordinates parking; - Controls traffic along waterway; - Watches for and alerts people of dangerous situations such as wakes, commercial traffic, etc.; - Completes and submits required reports and paperwork; - Performs related functions as required. SHIFT INFORMATION: This temporary full-time position (with no benefits) works from late May through mid-August. Generally, four 10-hour shifts per week to include weekends. Shift will likely be a mid-swing shift, but flexibility is needed to perform the job duties.

The Bingham County 9-1-1 Center provides call-taking and dispatch services to the Sheriff's Office, two Police Departments and five Fire/EMS agencies, answer emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire and medical services, obtain and document pertinent information pertaining to those calls for service, provide pre-arrival instructions, determine types of assistance needed and dispatch emergency services personnel, monitor and document all emergency personnel location and activities at all times, coordinate and document responses from outside agencies, process and enter all reports into the National Crime Information Center. No experience necessary, all training and certifications are provided on the job.
